Ways to care for our earth

This week we have focused our learning on Earth day. Students read articles on recycling, windmills,  and ways to celebrate Earth day. We have a poem/song called "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle." We used what we learned to make a list of ways to care for and protect our planet.

In read aloud we read and discussed a book about soil and one about compost. Which fit into our Earth day focus.

In science we began our next unit on plants by learning about soil. We will progress to seeds and do planting of a variety of flowers and vegetables.  Today we used the soil samples to make observations.
