Over the past month students have been reading all different non-fiction books about animals. Then each student chose a different animal to write a nonfiction informational book about. Our books included where do animals live, what they eat, and what their body looks like. We had a lot of fun using Google to find different species of octopus, walrus and seahorse. The books include a table of contents, a glossary, and an author's page. Today students had the chance to sit in the author's chair and read parts of their book to the class. Some students even asked to take a blank book home so that they could research another animal!
