This morning both first grades listened attentively as our guest Mr. Codreanu, shared information about his birth country, Romania. He taught the students where Romania is located and what it is near. There were photos of animals and pictures in books. William's dad even read the story of Nadia Comaneci who persevered and got the first perfect score in gymnastics, winning a gold medal!

Today we are wearing the color purple to support victims of violence. Thank you for supporting this cause and sending in money for wrist bands.

In math we have been working on subtraction strategies and progressing to problems up to twenty.

In writing students completed a friendship piece. Today we are making cards and writing a letter to a child named Brock who has been very ill.

In science we have started a new topic, light. Students did an experiment with flashlights in class yesterday. Have a nice weekend and enjoy this beautiful stretch of weather.
