This week in math we have progressed to place value. Now that students can count within 120, we will develop a deeper understanding of what a number means and ways it can be broken down. Using the Smartboard as well as place value blocks we have been building the tens and ones that compose a number. A strong understanding of this helps students later on with addition and subtraction skills.

In Fundations we will be finishing unit one on letter formation and sounds. On Thursday we will begin unit two which is tapping out short vowel three letter words. This week we read a Piggy and Elephant book in preparation for someone taking the book bag home this weekend.
