Another hot day (94 degrees) to end the year. Nothing could dim our mood because it was field day. Students did events like longest throw, kick, and jumps. They raced to see who was the fastest and who could dribble a soccer ball. Students also hoola-hooped and jumped rope. One of the favorites was the sack race. Thank you to Mr. S, the many parents and volunteers.
This afternoon we did another STEM project (see-saw) with partners. Students in 1A also filled in their Time Capsule and had the chance to look back at what they wrote in September. After that we had two special guests visit. Two girls who will be attending SMS next fall shadowed in our classroom for math centers and recess.
Tomorrow we have the final all school Mass of the year and stuffed animal day.
Also we will continue STEM and simple machines.
Over the final few days a lot is being sent home. Please enjoy reading over the math, poetry and writing with your child. They enjoy seeing their own growth and differences in their work from September to June. As a teacher I truly love the look on their faces as they marvel at the differences!
