Winter Work Time

Students in 1A had a busy and productive week. They completed a second non fiction text, wrote information on a graphic organizer, and used that information to write informational papers about animals. Students were able to write an opening sentence and three facts from the text about their animal. All students had the opportunity to work on RazKids and successfully completed at least one book and quiz. In math students counted coins, bought items with coins, and did addition with tens. We used place value blocks and a hundreds chart to help learn this skill. The Common Core objective is for students to be able to use mental math to add tens for numbers up to 100. In religion students have been learning about Baptism. A few students brought in photos of their own Baptism to share with the class. Please keep reading at home and doing books on RazKids. I am hoping everyone is on a new level for February( if they haven't advanced in the past two weeks).
