Today was a fun and exciting day in 1A. We went over to Oktoberfest to play seasonal games. The 8th graders did an awesome job running the games and taking the younger students from station to station.

In math students made fact family haunted house pictures. We also wrote the sequence of how to carve a pumpkin.

This week we are circling back to addition strategies as we progress to numbers from 10-20. Students have been using DICE to solve word problems and are getting the routine of circling and underlining key information in the question. In ELA students have been working on digraphs, reading sight words, as well as tapping out and stretching words to decode what is being read. Students have time to read to self, read with a partner, and read with a teacher. We have been reading Stellaluna and Ivy & Bean outloud and discussing characters, problem and solution.
